Over the past few months, the hashtag #NotMyPresident has become a huge trend worldwide. This hashtag started in November of 2016 after President Trump became elected. This hashtag is about resisting Donald Trump and his ideas. This hashtag broke out the night of the election 2016. It also became very popular in protests against Trump after the election. The hashtag is actually a protest within itself. It is saying that you do not accept the election results and won’t acknowledge Donald Trump as POTUS. As expected, controversy broke out over this hashtag. Republicans accused non-Trump supporters of being “sore losers” and “babies,” while the Democrats argued that Republicans did the same type of protesting in 2008 for Former President Barack Obama.
